Body Basix Founders Challenge Themselves to Reach their Potential with Respective
Commitments to Summit Mt. Rainier and Finish an Ironman Triathlon.
Delafield, Wis – January 11, 2010. Chris McIntosh and Robin Gohsman founded Body Basix™ and
together with a team of passionate professionals helped launch a brand with the mission of: "helping
others reach their health, wellness and fitness potential."
Rhetorically they asked, "How can one know his/her potential without challenging themselves to
determine what that potential actually is?"
To answer that question, each challenged themselves with an audacious and unlikely personal goal – Chris
to summit Mt. Rainier and Robin to finish an Ironman Triathlon. Each will journal their journey to share
their ups, downs, frustrations and exhilarations with the Body Basix community of health enthusiasts.
As a 325 pound lineman who captained two Wisconsin Badger Rose Bowl victories and was subsequently
drafted in the 1st round by the NFL Seattle Seahawks, Chris was noted for his brute strength, sheer size,
blocking technique and keen intellect. Toady, having retired from the NFL due to an injury, Chris has
repurposed his body with a combination of yoga and Pilates and will test his agility, physical stamina and
mental endurance climbing up 14,411 feet to the summit of Mt. Rainier.
With little experience bicycling or swimming, and a running speed previously timed with a calendar rather
than a stop-watch, Robin's goal to finish the 140.6 miles of an Ironman Triathlon is equally lofty (but
vertically more grounded.)
Chris noted, "I recently read that if no one laughs at your goals, they aren't large enough. During my time
in Seattle, I was always intrigued by the personal challenges the mountain offered and once made it
almost to the end of the paved walkway greeting Rainier's visitors before I succumbed to fatigue."

Robin added, "Bob Dylan sang it best in Forever Young, 'May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on
every rung.' It is truly exciting and invigorating to be so totally removed from my comfort zone. I look
forward to meeting each new challenge and having fun each step, pedal and stroke along the way."
Both Chris and Robin have September, 2010 circled on their calendars to meet their goals and will
chronicle their progress in weekly updates posted on both the Body Basix website:
www.mybodybasix.com and on the Body Basix Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Body-
Basix/119741248592. Each will use Body Basix "performance nutrition for every body" products to fuel
their journey and will follow Body Basix training regimens and exercise programs in conjunction with
coaching from activity-specific experts.
The Body Basix webpage and Facebook page will also include a forum for consumers to share their goals
and receive the encouragement, advice and support of a network of like-minded health and fitness
individuals.
